The Malcolm Oxley Fund

Educated at Leeds Grammar School and then at Oxford University, Malcolm Oxley joined Teddies in 1962 to teach History, which over time also grew to English and EconomicsA brilliant teacher in all his subjects he also became Director of Studies, Housemaster of Segar’s and was an inspiring Director of plays.  He retired in 1999 as Sub-Warden after thirty-seven years of selfless service to the School and to the generations of pupils whom he taught, tutored and inspiredMalcom was the defining figure at Teddies for more than a quarter of the School’s history, he touched the hearts of so many and left an incredible enduring legacy. 

Malcolm retained a very close connection to the School often attending OSE events, academic talks, conferences and Gaudy each yearMalcolm was also a proud member of the Simeon Society and left funds to the School to establish 'The John and Rose Oxley Bursary' (named after Malcolm's parents) to support bright and talented children with a connection to the Church of England, or those with University or School teaching parents who would otherwise not be able to afford a Teddies education.
